Medical Record Review
Medical file reviews are utilized to assist in evaluating cases. Usually the focus of a file review is to assess causation, impairment, and appropriateness of care. Dependent on the case, file reviews can be a valuable cost saving service in lieu of an independent medical examination.
Northwest Medical Experts will facilitate the medical file review with the appropriate consultant based on the requester's preference. If requested, we will coordinate a phone consultation with the consultant before and/or after the IME to discuss findings before the report is generated. Sometimes a verbal report or opinion is given in lieu of a written report.
We accept the records in hard copy format, electronic upload or on CD-ROM. We prepare the records per the consultant's preference, enabling the consultant to review the records file as efficiently as possible resulting in a cost saving benefit.
The medical consultant always reviews and gives final approval on all reports before they are delivered to the requesting party. All of our reports are accompanied by a CD-ROM containing an electronic copy of the report, an electronic copy of the records as were provided to the consultant , and an electronic copy of any other pertinent documents. We also provide a copy of the same information to the consultant to retain in their files if needed for post services such as depositions or trial testimony.
We strive for a 7 business day turnaround time and rush report requests are accepted and accommodated whenever possible.
