Northwest Medical Experts, Inc., provides IME services to litigators. NWME is a privately owned Seattle-based medical consulting and litigation support company. Founded in 2008, the success of NWME is based on producing a quality product and providing excellent customer service to our clients each and every day. Our motto is “Anticipating Needs, Exceeding Expectations”. Our core service is in the facilitation of medical consultant services for Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) and Record Reviews (RRs) for legal professionals and claims adjusters, primarily in litigated personal injury, pre-litigated casualty, and medical malpractice cases. NWME has multiple medical consultants in various specialties ready to assist our clients. We also offer a variety of support services, which include: Medical Record Organization, Document Management, and the preparation of Medical Record Summaries and Chronologies.
Since 2008, NWME has streamlined the coordination of obtaining independent medical opinions for overworked and understaffed law firms and insurance companies, thus reducing staff hours expended on the process. NWME is believed to be the only IME vendor in the region with an educated and experienced litigation paralegal as its Operations Director to assist with the facilitation of these services.
Our support staff specializes in scheduling services for litigated cases only. All of our processes and procedures have been built upon our success as a preferred vendor for multiple law firms. Our professional staff is supported by advanced technology to ensure a high level of superior customer service to both clients and consultants. This allows NWME to give each case or claim the level of attention and flexibility it deserves.
NWME will facilitate the IME request through product delivery. If requested, we will work directly with the examinee or his or her attorney to ensure the most convenient date, time, and location for all participants. Our goal is to support the needs of our clients as early in the process as possible.
Kristi Walter, President of NWME, began her career in 1997 working for a large IME firm. In 2002 she launched Axis Administrative Services, a virtual administrative services company that supported medical consultants and their practices. Helping medical consultants engage with the legal and insurance communities provided a unique perspective in the industry. She realized that high costs and poor quality burdened the legal and insurance communities, and inefficient processes burdened the medical consultants and their staff. As consultants and clients did not appear to be receiving adequate support necessary to properly administer these consultant services in litigated cases from the options that were currently available, NWME was launched in January of 2008 with the goal of solving this problem and providing relief.
